Day One: starting this blog

I am not sure where or when I heard the quote, "Try One New Thing Each Day", but how many of us actually do this? So this is my blog. 365 days of trying new things. One new thing each day. I've never created a blog but I figure it is the best way to be held accountable for what I am attempting to do. I have a bad habit of not finishing projects I start. So here goes nothing.

It's January 3rd...so is that cheating? On January 1st I actually WROTE out my New Year's resolutions and printed them out and hung them up on my wall. I have to now stick to them right?? Yesterday I wore a new shirt and went to a new bar. How lame is that? Thats what sparked this blog. How many times do I think how I want to try new things. I love to try new things, but I don't do it as often as I should. And at the end of the day the only thing I have ended up doing is wearing that new shirt. I have no idea what will become of this blog or what new things I really will try and take on but I am excited about my little experiment.

My new thing today: starting this blog.

  1. Hi, Heather!
I started my year of new things when I turned 30 (close to two years ago- yikes!) I ended up trying close to 400 new things and the blog did keep me accountable. It was really fun and I did all sorts of random stuff that I wouldn't have otherwise. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that it is close to 2 years later and I am still keeping up my new things. I wish you the best of luck!

  2. Also, I am a teacher (3rd grade special education) and I do live near Boston so please feel free to steal any ideas from my blog- there is tons of cool stuff to do here. May I suggest trapeze lessons at Jordan's furniture as one of your first experiments?
